Her Majesty Queen Mary of Denmark has begun a three-day state visit to Kenya.

She arrived in the country on Tuesday night, where she was received at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

The Foreign Affairs CS was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Rebecca Miano.

While in Kenya, the Queen is expected to tour conservation development projects for endangered species at the Coast.

She will also visit several landfill projects spearheading waste management, circular economy initiatives, and urban environmental resilience within Nairobi before participating at the ongoing UNEA 7 meeting taking place at the United Nations Office in Nairobi.

The United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) is taking place at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, where global leaders are deliberating on environmental policies and climate commitments.

Mudavadi said the state visit provides a platform to strengthen Kenya–Denmark collaboration in renewable energy, climate action, and environmental protection.

“It presents opportunities to explore new areas of partnership and innovation that benefit both nations, particularly in people-centered and sustainable development initiatives,” he added.
