Police in Kuresoi North have stepped up their crackdown on narcotics trafficking after arresting three suspects found with multiple rolls of bhang in the Nyota area.

The trio was intercepted in the Kwa Manga section of Nyota Sub-location during an operation targeting drug distribution networks in the region.

Authorities said the suspects were taken into custody and were being processed ahead of their expected arraignment.

According to the National Police Service, the arrests marked part of a broader and sustained effort to disrupt illegal drug circulation and enhance public safety.

Officers said similar operations would continue across Nakuru county and other affected regions.

“The National Police Service remains committed to combating the circulation of illegal drugs and safeguarding public welfare,” the statement read.

On Sunday afternoon, police in Kikuyu, Kiambu county, have arrested four suspected drug peddlers following an intelligence-led operation in the Makutano area.

According to officers from Kikuyu Police Station, the suspects were apprehended during a targeted crackdown on narcotics within the locality. They are currently being processed and are expected to be arraigned in court.

During the raid, police recovered 1,107 rolls and 6 kilograms of bhang, with an estimated street value of Sh210,000.

Authorities say the seizure marks a significant disruption of illegal drug distribution in the area.

NPS commended Kenyans who shared crucial information that aided the operation, as well as the officers for their vigilance and sustained commitment to fighting narcotic drugs and illicit brews.

In Kakamega, police County have intensified their fight against illicit alcohol following a successful operation in the Makhukuni area that led to the arrest of five suspects.

According to officers from Matete Police Station, the Saturday operation conducted on November 29, 2025 targeted brewing and distribution points suspected of supplying illegal alcohol within the locality.

During the raid, police recovered 35 liters of chang'aa, a traditional liquor banned for its health risks and unregulated production.

The five suspects were taken into custody and are undergoing processing ahead of their expected arraignment.

NPS said the crackdown is part of ongoing nationwide efforts to dismantle networks involved in the production and sale of illicit brews.

Police in Gatanga, Murang’a County on Saturday arrested a suspect found with cannabis sativa following a joint operation between officers from Gatura Police Post and National Government Administration Officers (NGAO).

The raid, conducted in the Mbugiti area, was prompted by a tip-off from members of the public.

During the operation, officers recovered 15 rolls of cannabis sativa from a house where the suspect was apprehended.

Authorities said the suspect is in custody and will be processed before being arraigned in court.
