Radio Africa Group continues to celebrate a season of major achievements, with accolades spanning leadership, digital influence, and radio listenership.

On Thursday morning, staff members gathered to congratulate the Group CEO Martin Khafafa, media personality Kalondu Musyimi, and Radio Jambo.

The event included cake-cutting and champagne, music, a show of dance moves, and laughter.

On the leadership front, Khafafa was named CEO of the Year – Media & Communications 2025 at the Strategic Business & Leadership Awards, organised by Strategic Nest Corporation.

The award recognised corporate leaders driving innovation, growth and impact across Africa, reflecting both Khafafa’s vision and the company’s collective achievements.

“Congratulations to Radio Jambo, to Kalondu. I just want to say thank you to everybody in the company,” Khafafa said during his brief address.

He took the opportunity to address in-house matters, congratulating employees for their dedication and teamwork.

Kalondu was celebrated for winning the Media and Blogger Influencer of the Year at the Pulse Influencer Awards 2025.

Known for her engaging entertainment interviews and strong online presence, Kalondu has earned a reputation as a trusted and relatable voice in Kenya’s digital media space.

"Thank you so much for this commendation. As the family that has nurtured my career journey, I am grateful. Thank you to the Mpasho Team,” she said.

Group Head of Digital Strategy David Muba commended Kalondu for her zeal.

“I want to appreciate this amazing lady here for putting us on the map. Kalondu is very respectful and hardworking,” he said.

He noted that Kalondu’s famous “Quickfire questions” have not only made an impact on her career journey, but also to Radio Africa Group and to the interviewees.

“We have around 70 million views from Quickfire on TikTok. You have placed people from zero to hero. You have had a lot of impact on the industry,” he said.

Ghost also chimed in, noting that Kalondu’s passion makes the difference in her journey.

“Congratulations. Kalondu, well done. I have followed your Quickfires and I love your style, confidence. Your passion has taken you to where you are, and I am proud of you. I pray for God’s grace to elevate you more,” he said.

“I want to thank everyone for their effort. You are the best, and you deserve the best”.

Radio Jambo was also being celebrated, after being confirmed as Nairobi’s most listened-to Swahili station, according to the latest Ipsos Kenya Audience Tracker (IKAT).

The station reaches 7.3 per cent of the city’s radio audience and accounts for 20.2 per cent of total listening time, reflecting strong listener loyalty.

Its flagship breakfast show, “Gidi na Ghost Asubuhi,” continues to be a crowd favourite. With a unique blend of humour, audience interaction, and real-life relationship stories, the show has become a cornerstone of Radio Africa’s morning programming.

Its popular segment “Patanisho,” where hosts mediate reconciliation between estranged friends, family members, or partners live on air, remains a highlight for listeners.

With these accomplishments, Radio Africa continues to shine as a leading media house, celebrating its leadership, digital influence, and strong connection with audiences across Nairobi.
