Police are investigating the killing of a 45-year-old man whose body was found on the roadside in Ingalwa village, Kegondi, Vihiga County.

The body had been dropped in Chandumba Market on Saturday after a murder elsewhere, police said, and identified the deceased as Meshack Sindani Mengo.

The body had stab wounds on the chest and neck. The motive of the murder was not immediately established.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.

A nine-year-old girl was electrocuted in an incident in Koibatek, Baringo County.

The incident happened on Saturday, October 25, in Seketetwo village, police said, adding she was trying to fix a water heater in the socket when she was electrocuted.

She died on the spot before the body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

Police are also investigating a drowning incident that happened at Kenya Project Estate in Mtwapa, Kilifi County, involving a ten-year-old boy.

The boy drowned in a swimming pool while on an expedition with his friends on Saturday, October 25, 2025, police said. Police are investigating the incident. The body was moved to a local mortuary pending an autopsy.

Elsewhere in the Marimanti area, Tharaka Nithi County, one Nathan Kimathi, 52, who was reported missing, was found drowned in the Kathita River.

The body was retrieved from the river by members of the public before police arrived at the scene.

The body with peeled-off skin on the left shoulder was moved to Marimanti Level IV Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

In Kirinyaga’s Mucagara village, one Patrick Nyaga, 30, collapsed and died after having a shower in his house. Police said the man had showered and was dressing in his house when he suddenly collapsed and died.

The cause of the death was not immediately established, police said of the Saturday afternoon incident.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police said.

Elsewhere, a man died in hospital after he was attacked by a mob on claims he was a thief in the Ndumbuini area, Kabete, Kiambu County.

The man succumbed to the injuries in hospital hours after he had been moved there by the police on October 25, 2025, in the morning.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy, police said.

Police discourage mob lynching incidents and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing.
