Jubilee Party Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni has clarified that only party members who have received formal invitations will be permitted to attend the upcoming Special National Delegates Convention (NDC).

Speaking in an interview with Kameme TV, Kioni emphasised that not all Jubilee members will be allowed to participate in the September 26 event, which will be held at the Jockey Club, Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi.

“Not every Jubilee Party member has been invited to the planned meeting. Anyone who has not received a message should not bother to come, as they will not be allowed in,” Kioni stated firmly.

The convention, convened by party leader and former President Uhuru Kenyatta, will begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to mark a critical milestone in Jubilee’s efforts to rebuild and regain political momentum.

According to the official notice, delegates will receive a status report from the National Executive Committee (NEC) before engaging in deliberations on reviewing, formulating, and approving the party’s constitution, organs, policies, and programmes.

The meeting will also consider any other pressing issues affecting the party, rebuild its structures, and renew its relevance ahead of upcoming electoral contests, including the November 27 by-elections across the country.

This follows a recent NEC meeting chaired virtually by Uhuru Kenyatta — his first active leadership role since the party resolved internal legal disputes that had left it without clear leadership for an extended period.

During the NEC session, the party leadership assessed Jubilee’s current status, reviewed ongoing activities, and outlined a strategic plan aimed at revitalising the party’s national presence.

The Special NDC is expected to set the stage for Jubilee’s renewed efforts under Uhuru’s stewardship.

The former president regained full control of the party following a prolonged legal battle, which culminated in a High Court ruling in September 2024 and a subsequent gazette notice in June 2025 that reinstated Uhuru Kenyatta and his team as the legitimate party leadership.
