A grandfather and his grandson died on Saturday morning after they were knocked by a vehicle at Elengetia area along Narok-Nakuru highway.
Tekero Yenko (87) and his grandson, Brayan Yenko (32), died at a Nakuru hospital where they were undergoing treatment.
According to a police report, the two were walking by the roadside when an Isuzu lorry that was being driven from Narok towards Nakuru hit a vehicle from the opposite direction before losing control and hitting the duo.
Good Samaritans rushed the two to Valley Hospital in Nakuru City where they succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.
Narok county police boss Riko Ngare confirmed the incident, saying the ill-fated vehicles were towed to Narok North police station for inspection.
He called on motorists to be vigilant when plying the smooth highway to avoid causing accidents.
Pedestrians, who have for long borne the brunt of road accidents, have also been advised to exercise caution when on the roads to minimise the risk of becoming casualties or road carnage.
