Public Service CS Geoffrey Ruku has told off the opposition, saying that they lack the vision to take the country to the next level of development.

Ruku faulted them for only trying to divide the country along ethnic lines to create chaos so that they can selfishly get political positions.

He cautioned young people against being used by such leaders, insisting that they have nothing to lose.

“There is incitement, there are those who would like to bring up tribal issues, there are those who want to stir up hatred, there are those who want to say Kenya is a country of shares, there are those who want to say in Kenya we are not brothers and sisters, we are cousins and relatives but in the republic of Kenya we are all brothers and sisters. Those who want to divide youths on the basis of tribalism have no vision for the future of our Kenya.

“We love our young people. Don’t be provoked by old people who have lived their lives, have nice homes and children who don’t live in the country. They provoke you so that they can get political seats,” Ruku said.

He spoke during a church service in Mutukanio, Njoro in Nakuru county on Sunday.

The CS hit out at the leadership of the opposition outfit, saying that all of them have had the opportunity to serve in government but have nothing to show for it.

He singled out DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, Kalonzo Musyoka na Rigathi Gachagua.

“If you ask them what they did when they were Deputy President and vice president and senior ministers, they can’t name one thing. Eugene Wamalwa can’t show anything, Kalonzo Musyoka was a minister from when I was in Primary school but in Ukambani he did nothing. This other one (Rigathi Gachagua) you gave him a job for two years and he did nothing.”

Ruku also called on the church leaders to work together with the government, saying that they complement each other’s roles in society.

He noted that all leaders in the executive have firm instructions to work with the church because they both serve the people of Kenya.

“I am urging the Bishops that the government of Kenya, through the leadership of President William Ruto is very committed to working with the church.

“Those of us in the executive are under very strong instructions from the president to work with the church. The church serves the people and so does the government. The church guides our families and our youths and the church and government have a responsibility to work together and that is why the President has encouraged us to work together,” the CS said.
