The hearing of the murder case against former Migori Governor Okoth Obado resumes today at the High Court in Nairobi.

The two co-accused, Michael Oyamo and Casper Ojwang Obiero, are also scheduled to appear in court.

In April 2025, the former Migori Governor began his defence in the Sharon Otieno murder trial.

The High Court had earlier ruled that Obado, along with his co-accused, had a case to answer.

Obado testified under oath to support his claim of innocence.

He admitted in court that he was in a relationship with Sharon Otieno.

During his testimony, he acknowledged that their relationship was personal and took responsibility for her pregnancy.

He, however, denied any involvement in Sharon Otieno’s murder.

Subsequently, Oyamo and Obiero presented their defences separately, each giving sworn testimony in which they equally denied the charges.

As the trial progresses, Oyamo’s witness is expected to testify, after which the defence will undergo cross-examination.
