A Milimani anti-corruption court has deferred the ruling in the case against former Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) manager Noah Oketch Oluoch to May 21, 2025.
Oluoch appeared before Principal Magistrate Celesa Asis Okore on Wednesday for further proceedings in a case where he is accused of presenting questionable academic credentials to secure a senior managerial position at REREC.
He was first charged in April 2024 and has denied the allegations.
According to the charge sheet, Oluoch is accused of presenting a falsified master’s degree purportedly from the University of Nairobi and is further alleged to have received salary and allowances amounting to Sh1.4 million during his tenure.
The court granted a request by the defence team for additional time to prepare their case.
Oluoch is expected to give sworn testimony in his defence, and two witnesses are lined up to testify on his behalf.
Magistrate Okore directed that all necessary documents be shared between the parties within seven days.
The matter is set to be mentioned again on May 21.
