Earlier, reports were rife that the officers who raided the Former CS home were from the EACC.

The officers allegedly planned to ransack the home and arrest the former CS for unknown reasons.

An official from the  EACC informed the Star that the raid could have been staged by the Asset Recovery Agency.

ARA has apparently been profiling Matiangi and two of his former colleagues whom they also plan to target soon.

But on Thursday, a day later, ARA also denied any links to the alleged raid.

Speaking to the Star, prior to the drama, Matiang'i described the looming raid as "pure harassment and witchhunt".

“This is pure harassment and a witch hunt. We will resist this," Matiang'i said.

Matiang'i wondered why they targeted his home at night even as he defended himself from any accusation of wrongdoing.

"I have been told they want to raid my home at night. If they want something from this house I don’t know why they want to raid at night. I have not done anything wrong,” he said.
