President Uhuru Kenyatta may not be vocal on insecurity and corruption issues affecting the country but he has been dealing with the issues behind the scenes, State House spokesperson Kanze Dena has said.

In an interview with Spice FM on Monday, March 28, Kanze said that Uhuru gets frustrated by the legal bottlenecks in the fight against corruption.

Kanze, however, affirmed that the president has been working to end corruption.

"The President does everything within his powers to fight graft, including taking administrative action against those implicated in the vice."

Kanze further said that President Kenyatta was concerned about the security of his citizens and he is working to find a  solution.

“That's why you've seen, for instance, the President had a sit down with community leaders from affected regions to find lasting solutions to the security challenges,” she said.

This comes after Baringo leaders called upon Uhuru to break his silence and help end violence in the Rift Valley.

The leaders, led by Baringo North MP William Cheptumo, urged Uhuru to visit the area.

They added that their people have had enough of the insecurity issue.

Further, the leaders united and decided to halt campaigns until the President intervenes.

Governor Stanley Kiptis said the bandits were everywhere which had made it difficult for the officials to conduct development projects.

“We can’t even transport medical supplies as bandits are waiting on the roads,” Governor Kiptis said.

The leaders lauded Interior CS Fred Matiang’i for doing his best to help them but concluded that the issue is now above his powers.
