Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga is in Kisumu for a food distribution exercise.
The former Prime Minister arrived in the lakeside city shortly before noon.
He was received by Governor Anyang Nyong'o, his deputy Mathew's Owili, Kisumu Central Mp Joshua Oron, Nyakach MP Aduma Owuor and other local leaders.
The food distribution drive will be done in Nyando area.
More than 6,000 households within Lakeside City have been affected by the flash floods following heavy rains that have been pounding the country.
The floods in Nyando left various homes submerged, properties destroyed, and crops in farms washed away.
There has been a plea for humanitarian assistance for the victims who lacked basic needs such as blankets mosquito nets and food.
After which, Raila will have a meet-the-people tour in Ahero and Kondele, among other places.
"Receiving Rt. Hon @RailaOdinga at Kisumu International Airport ahead of his scheduled food distribution exercise in Nyando and meet the people tour in Ahero, Nyamasaria and Kondele. Feel at home Baba!" Nyong'o said in a tweet.
Other leaders from Kisumu County accompanied the governor to receive Raila.
