Yuvraj Rajput produced an impressive score of 77 to win the boys’ 13-14 years Junior Golf Foundation US Kids Fall Local Tour played on Monday at the par 72 Sigona Golf Club.

Alpha Ndungu was second with a score of 83 with Justin Ngeera one-stroke behind at third.

It was a bad day for the top guns on the course as Amar Shah, Aidan Gachora and Tsorav Soni missed out on the podium.

“Nothing worked for me today as much as I tried. It was just a bad day for me,” said Amar.

Amelia Sheikh was the top player in the girls’ 13-14-year-old category with a score of 90 followed by Yolanda Yu (91), Marya Nyambura (92) and the winner of the previous round, Sophia Nesbitt (93).

“I am very happy to win today, coming up on top in a very competitive group is humbling for me,” said Amelia.

Zianna Khoda won the girls’ 9-10-years category in a playoff against Irene Asiyo after both scored 43. Ashley Gachora finished third with a score of 45 followed by Aria Dodhia (47).

With the elite squad still in Team Kenya training camp, Jabari Ongwae continued to impress in the boys’ 15-18 years category with a score of 97 with Garcia Maina and Zameer Nanji joint second with a score of 98.

A total of 167 players took part in the tournament with the boys’ 13-14 years category the most fancied with 22 entries.
