The Presidential Debate Secretariat has scheduled a deputy presidential debate on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

It will be held at the Catholic University for East Africa (CUEA) in Karen, Nairobi.

The debate will feature four presidential running mates from Roots Party, Agano Party, UDA and Azimio la Umoja.

Presidential candidates from the four political parties and their running mates have been cleared to contest at the August 9 general election.

The debate will be two tired.

The first debate which will feature running mates whose popularity in the last three opinion polls stood below 5 per cent.

These are Justina Wamae of Roots Party and Ruth Mucheru of Agano Party.

Pre-debate analysis will begin at 5 pm while the debate will air between 6 pm and 7:30 pm.

Zubeida Koome and Francis Gachuri will moderate the first tier debate.

The second debate will begin from 8 pm to 10 pm.

It will feature deputy presidential candidates whose popularity in the last three opinion polls stood above 5 per cent.

These are Martha Koome of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party and Rigathi Gachagua of United Democratic Alliance, UDA.

It will be moderated by KTN's Sophia Wanuna NTV's James Smart.
