In a
statement, Ayiro said, “Beginning this Sunday against MCF, we are determined to
build new momentum and set a stronger tone for the season.”
Ayiro said
he takes full responsibility for the team’s current state, promising that there
will be improvement both on and off the pitch.
“It is still
early in the season. Our story is only beginning, and we will dream on. We will
announce new management structures as we turn a new page as a club. A structure
that reflects ambition, discipline, and growth,” he added.
He rued their bad away record this season and promised that the team is working on it. Separately, Gucha Stars coach Sammy Okoth has challenged his boys to be consistent.
He spoke
ahead of Saturday’s game against Kibera Black Stars at Gusii Stadium.
“We lack consistency. In the last three games, we have won one, lost one, and drawn one game. Consistency is key to achieving our aspirations as a team,” said Okoth.
In other games scheduled for Saturday,
3K FC will welcome former FKF Premier League side Vihiga United at Moi Stadium
in Embu, while Darajani Gogo hosts Luanda Villa.
Talanta will
welcome second-placed Michael Olunga Foundation Academy (MOFA).
At the same
time, Gucha Stars’ Vincent Nyabuto leads the NSL top scorers’ chart with eight
goals. He is followed by Syphas Otieno of Migori Youth with seven, while Laban
Otieno of MOFA FC is third with six.
David
Kapansa (Equity Bank), Collins Mwangi (Fortune Sacco), Jephiter Maraga (Kibera
Black Stars) and Joshua Amunike (Nairobi City Stars) are joint fourth with four
goals each.
