Ronny Lusigi (President Esports Kenya), Joash Okuto (CEO 82 sports) and Eric Lemeiyan, a player, display a dummy cheque during the sponsorship/ HANDOUTThe Esports Kenya Federation has announced that the winning team of the Kenya Phygital Cup will earn a fully sponsored trip to Astana, Kazakhstan, in addition to a cash prize of Sh70,000. Runners-up will take home Sh30,000.
The tournament, sponsored by 82 Sports at a value of Sh500,000, is set for December 6, at the Jamhuri Primary School Astro Turf Grounds in Nairobi. The sponsorship will cover tournament logistics, production, and prizes.
This is the second edition of the Kenya Phygital Cup. The inaugural tournament in January 2025 saw the winners represent Kenya in Abu Dhabi, reaching the quarterfinals.
Phygital Football combines physical and digital competition. Teams play 5v5 physical matches, followed by PlayStation 5 esports games, with aggregate scores determining the overall winner.

82 Sports is a non-governmental organisation that sponsors grassroots football across Kenya. Its “Play for Green Spaces” initiative combines sports development with tree planting and community greening projects.q

Team registration is open through Esports Kenya Federation digital channels. Only the first 16 teams to register will qualify.
