The semifinals are being replayed following a decision by the Sports Disputes Tribunal, which nullified the results of the earlier games after Kisumu Boys challenged their loss against Onjiko School in the preliminaries. In the semis, Onjiko beat Kisumu Day 4-3 after the teams drew 1-1, while Agai edged Kasagam 2-0.

At the same time, Kisii County boys’ football champions Sameta High School have been disqualified for failing to register some of their players on the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) portal.

County KSSSA secretary Geoffrey Nyantika said losing finalists St Joseph’s Ong’icha will now represent the county at the Nyanza regional showpiece. Sameta beat Ong’icha 1-0 to win the county title.

In boys’ basketball 3x3, Kisii School have been thrown out and replaced by Nyabisase Mixed, while Kereri Girls’ were knocked out too, leaving Nyabisase and Ayora to progress to the county showpiece.

Matutu had obtained a court order barring Gekendo from representing the county. Matutu were disqualified for fielding an ineligible player during the county championships.

St Thomas Moore, Riang’ombe, will represent the county in girls’ football after beating Ikonge Girls 1-0 on Tuesday at Kebabe Girls’.

Nyamira are unlikely to field a boys’ volleyball team at the regionals after the top three teams, Don Bosco Nyabiosi and St Paul’s Gekano High School, failed to register their players on the KSSSA portal.
