Breakfast is among my favorite meal to prepare because it is easy and you get to experiment with tasty treats and ingredients straight out of your pantry.
French toast is a dish made of sliced bread soaked in beaten eggs, sugar and typically milk, then pan fried.
Now that we know how to make French toast, making French roll-up is very easy and a creative breakfast treat for any day of the week.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons of butter,
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 8 slices of soft white bread or brown, crusts cut off
- Apple, honey, pancake syrup or maple syrup, for serving
Preparation
Step 1
In a small saucer, mix butter, sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
Step 2
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.
Step 3
Roll one slice of bread to about 1/8-inch thickness with a rolling pin. Then spread each slice with a thin layer of the butter mixture and roll up tightly. Repeat the process with the remaining bread slices and butter mixture.
Step 4
Coat the roll-ups in the egg and milk mixture, then sauté in a pan until golden brown.
Step 5
Remove from heat and put on a paper towel. Dust with cinnamon powder then serve and enjoy with maple syrup with your beverage of choice.
Enjoy!
