Health Cabinet Secretary Deborah Barasa has urged Kenyans to continue registering for SHA, especially now that the country is approaching the festive season.
The CS said registering now will ensure that their loved ones are fully covered in case of any health challenges that might need medical attention.
CS Barasa made the statement when she led the SHA registration effort at Garsen Town, Tana River County.
She also visited the Garsen Level 3 hospital, where she donated diapers to mothers and also promised to look into the challenges facing the hospital, especially the martenity wing that needs an upgrade.
Present were senior national government officers led by the deputy government spokesperson, Tana River women representative, who was also the host, Amina Dika and other women representatives who had visited the county.
Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana, Speaker of the country assembly and MCAs amongst other leaders, were also present.
This is one of the many ground activation programmes that the government has initiated in Mashinani as one way of creating awareness and registration on SHA and Taifa Care.
More than 2,000 people were registered during the CS's visit.
