President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has emerged as Kenya's most popular political party, edging out the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in the latest opinion poll by Infotrak Research and Consulting.

The nationally representative survey shows UDA enjoying the support of 22 per cent of Kenyans, narrowly ahead of ODM at 21 per cent.

The poll, which sought to establish which political party respondents currently feel closest to, also found that the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) has quickly established itself as the country's third-largest political force with nine per cent support.

The Jubilee Party ranked fourth with six per cent, while the Wiper Democratic Front (WDF) followed with five per cent.

However, the findings also reveal a large section of the electorate that remains politically unattached.

Twenty-nine per cent of respondents said they do not identify with any political party, while another seven per cent declined to disclose their political preference.

The survey paints the picture of an electorate that is still fluid, with more than a third of respondents either unaffiliated or unwilling to reveal their political leanings despite heightened political activity across the country.

Infotrak's trend analysis shows a dramatic shift in party fortunes over the past two years.

ODM, which topped the rankings in September 2024 with 38 per cent support, has recorded a sharp decline to 21 per cent in the latest survey, representing a 17 percentage-point drop.

Conversely, UDA has steadily gained ground. The ruling party has risen from 16 per cent support in September 2024 to 22 per cent in June 2026, making it the highest-ranked named political party in the latest poll.

Other registered political parties, including FORD-Kenya, KANU, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Party of National Unity (PNU), Maendeleo Chap Chap, the Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG), People's Liberation Party (PLP), Usawa Kwa Wote Party, United Green Movement (UGM), Thirdway Alliance Kenya, Ukweli Party, Frontier Alliance Party (FAP), NARC, Muungano Party, Restore and Build Kenya Party, People's Empowerment Party (PEP), Kenya National Congress (KNC) and Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM), attracted comparatively lower levels of support.

The sizeable proportion of respondents who said they do not identify with any party suggests that political parties still have significant room to expand their support base as campaigns and coalition negotiations gather momentum.

The survey was sponsored by Infotrak Research and Consulting and interviewed 3,000 adults drawn from all 47 counties between June 22 and June 26, 2026. Data was collected using a mixed-mode approach comprising Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI) and Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI).

According to Infotrak, the survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.79 percentage points at a 95 per cent confidence level and achieved a response rate of 99 per cent.
