Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced a water supply shutdown in some parts of the City County.
The move is aimed at facilitating the rerouting of the Water Supply pipeline at the Uhuru Highway-Haille Selassie Junction which will pave the way for the Green Park Pedestrian Underpass.
Muguna said the shutdown will start at 6.00 am on Thursday, October 3,
2024, to 6.00 am on Friday, October 4, 2024.
Areas to be affected by the shutdown include Central
Business District (CBD), areas along Mombasa Road, South Band C estates, Mater
Hospital, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport(JKIA), SGR, Athi River Export
Processing Zone(EZPA), Coca Cola, Mukuru, Imara Daima, Estates and Industries
along North Airport road, Embakasi village and Tassia Estate.
Residents of the Ngara area, Wangari Mathai Road, Desai Road
Kipande Road, Limuru Road, Muranga Road and Park Road, Gigiri, Whispers Avenue,
Village Market, UNEP and the US Embassy are to be affected by the water supply
interruption.
Additional areas to be affected in the shutdown period are the General Services Unit and Administration
Police Training Schools, Nairobi Internal Container Depot, parts of Baraka
estate, industries along Masai road and its adjacent areas, Buruburu phase 3, 4
and 5, Gikomba, Pumwani, Majengo, Shauri Moyo area and the whole of Industrial
Area.
