[PHOTOS] Mwatate youths take to the streets to protest against Finance Bill, 2024

Hundreds of protesters mostly the youth on Monday took to the streets of Mwatate town in Taita Taveta county to protest against the Finance Bill 2024.

The youths called for a total rejection of the Finance Bill. The protesters converged at the bodaboda shed in the town near the subcounty offices and marched towards the Mwatate-Taveta Road chanting "Reject Finance Bill."

Earlier in the week poster had been placed strategically in the town calling residents to turn up for the mother of all demonstrations on Monday(today) to register their disapproval of the Finance Bill 2024.

The youths demonstrated peacefully while the police kept watch.

Before the protests, contingents of police officers were deployed to deter any unlawful engagement by the protestors.
