The Ministry of Health has urged Kenyans to remain vigilant and observe strict public health measures following Ebola outbreaks reported in parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
According to the ministry, Ebola is a severe and often fatal disease spread through direct contact with infected bodily fluids, contaminated surfaces, or infected animals.
Health officials have advised the public to wash hands regularly with soap and clean water, avoid contact with sick individuals or bodily fluids, and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms appear.
Common Ebola symptoms include fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, severe weakness, unexplained bleeding, and body aches.
The ministry has also intensified screening at airports, border points, and other entry routes to detect possible cases early.
Surveillance and emergency response teams have been activated across the country as part of preparedness measures.
Kenyans have been further urged to avoid spreading unverified information and instead rely on updates issued by the Ministry of Health and other official public health agencies.
