Kenya's trade deficit with France narrowed by Sh12.88 billion in 2025

Data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics shows trade trends between 2021 and 2025. In 2021, exports stood at Sh9.722 billion against Sh22.491 billion in imports.

Figures peaked in 2023, with exports reaching Sh15.553 billion and imports hitting Sh36.937 billion.

By 2024, exports dipped to Sh14.038 billion while imports fell to Sh30.395 billion.

A notable shift occurred in 2025 as Kenya’s trade deficit narrowed by Sh12.88 billion.

That year, exports rose to Sh16.667 billion, and imports decreased to Sh29.549 billion.

Listed imports include machinery, equipment, aircraft parts, pharmaceuticals, and wine.
