Data from the Communications Authority for the period of October to December 2025 reveals a massive reliance on mobile technology for connectivity.

Smartphones dominate the landscape, accounting for a staggering 97.90% of all internet access in the country.

Other devices represent a significantly smaller portion of the market, with laptops trailing at 6.00%.

Smart TVs follow at 1.40%, while portable tablets and iPads make up just 0.80% of the usage.

Desktop computers recorded the lowest engagement, contributing only 0.50% to the total.

These figures emphasise the central role of mobile devices in Kenya’s digital ecosystem, where nearly all users utilise handheld technology to get online, leaving traditional computing and larger screens with a marginal share of the overall access.
