Countries most excited about Artificial Intelligence

Global interest in artificial intelligence remains high, with emerging markets leading enthusiasm for the technology.

According to the Digital 2026 Mid-Year Global Update Report, Nigeria tops the list, with 77 per cent of internet users aged 16 and above expressing excitement about AI. Ghana and Turkey follow closely, both recording over 72 per cent.

Brazil and Egypt also show strong interest, while Vietnam, Israel and the United Arab Emirates maintain solid engagement levels above 60 per cent.

Kenya ranks among the top 10, with 58.4 per cent of users indicating excitement about AI, highlighting the country’s growing appetite for digital innovation.

The findings suggest that countries with rapidly expanding digital ecosystems and youthful populations are driving global enthusiasm for AI.

Increased smartphone penetration, internet access and the practical applications of AI in everyday life are key factors behind the trend.

As adoption rises, AI is expected to play an even greater role in shaping economies, education and communication worldwide.
