Iran-Israel-US war: Fuels price impact by country/WILLIAM WANYOIKE

The conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States has sent shockwaves through the global energy market, with a recent survey by GeoPoll in April 2026 revealing profound public anxiety over fuel costs.

As military actions and supply route disruptions—particularly in the Strait of Hormuz—destabilise oil prices, citizens in various nations are bracing for significant financial pressure.

The survey indicates that Pakistan faces the most acute concern, with 85 per cent of respondents expecting or already experiencing fuel price hikes.

In Africa, the sentiment is similarly grim; Kenya and Egypt follow closely with 79 per cent and 78 per cent of their populations reporting impact.

South Africa and Nigeria also show high levels of concern at 68 per cent and 56 per cent, respectively.

Even in Saudi Arabia, a major oil exporter, 46 per cent of those surveyed expressed worry.

These figures highlight how the geopolitical crisis is translating into a direct cost-of-living struggle for millions across the globe.
