Good Friday is a solemn day in the Christian calendar that commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

It is observed during Holy Week, just before Easter Sunday.

Unlike celebratory holidays, Good Friday is marked by reflection, prayer, and remembrance of sacrifice.

The term “Good” highlights the spiritual significance and the belief in redemption through Jesus’ suffering.

Traditions vary across denominations, with some Christians fasting or abstaining from meat. Importantly, it is not the day of resurrection, which is celebrated on Easter Sunday.

The date changes each year but always falls on a Friday.
