The Kenyan electricity supply market for the financial year 2024/25 was heavily dominated by Kengen, which commanded a massive 58.97% market share.

No other supplier came close, with the next largest being Lake Turkana Wind Power at 9.99%.

Imports from Ethiopia held a significant 8.86% share, making it the third-largest single source of electricity.

The remainder of the market was split among several smaller players. Rabai held 3.40%, Kipeto Energy PLC had 2.94%, and UETLC contributed 5.87%.

Together, Sosian Menengai Geothermal and Others made up the remaining 3.84% of the supply, illustrating a market with one colossal leader and a dispersed field of competitors.
