In Summary

Snapchat has woven itself into the daily digital rhythm of young Africans, becoming more than just an app; it’s a window into everyday life.

In Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa, users are turning to Snapchat to capture fleeting moments, share laughs with friends, and explore the world around them through playful filters and local content.

A recent survey from the GeoPoll Report: Smartphone and Social Media Usage 2025 shows just how deeply embedded the app has become.

A striking 67 per cent of respondents say they use Snapchat to share quick snippets of their day, those candid, blink-and-you-miss-it memories.

Close behind, 65 per cent enjoy sending ephemeral photos and videos to friends, keeping conversations light, visual, and in the moment.
