In Summary

New rules for gambling advertisements in print media were released on May 29, 2025.

Issued by the Betting Control and Licensing Board, these regulations aim to standardise how gambling is promoted in newspapers.

Key changes include limiting operators to a maximum of two advertisements per week, with all such ads strictly confined to the sports section of publications.

A significant portion—20% of the bottom page of any gambling advertisement—must now be reserved for crucial information: the BCLB license number, a responsible gambling warning, and an age restriction label.

The font size for these mandatory elements must also be appropriately proportionate to the overall advertisement.
