Domestic production of sugar (tonnes): Jan to June of each year

In June, domestic sugar production reached a peak of 75,685 tonnes, more than double the 34,072 tonnes produced in the same month last year.

The abundant supply of cane has resulted in a drop in cane prices, with millers noting large volumes of cane deliveries.
