On the Radar: Roads ministry to launch new bridge management manuals

The Ministry of Roads and Transport, through the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), will today launch the Bridge Management Manuals (2026), a set of technical guidelines aimed at improving bridge inspection, maintenance and repair across the country.

The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel near JKIA from 8 am.

Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir will officiate the launch, assisted by Roads Principal Secretary Joseph Mbugua.

Among the documents to be unveiled are the Bridge Maintenance Management Guideline, Inspection Manual for Bridges, Bridge Inspection Handbook, Bridge Repair Manual and Standard Specifications for Bridge Repair in Kenya.

The manuals are expected to guide bridge management practices and strengthen the safety and durability of road infrastructure nationwide.

Deputy County Commissioners to begin induction training

Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo will today preside over the official opening of an induction training programme for newly appointed Deputy County Commissioners.

The training will be held at the Kenya School of Government in Lower Kabete, Nairobi, from 9 am.

The programme brings together newly appointed Deputy County Commissioners from across the country. It is expected to equip them with the knowledge and skills required to coordinate national government functions at the sub-county level effectively.

Court ruling expected in Marigat public land recovery case

The Environment and Land Court in Kabarnet is expected to deliver a ruling in a case involving the alleged illegal acquisition of public land valued at Sh15 million in Marigat.

The suit, filed against Samwel Cherunge Yegon and another individual, seeks the recovery of public property identified as Marigat L.R Nos. 13877/31/656.

Public land recovery case set for hearing in Nanyuki

The Environment and Land Court in Nanyuki will hear a case seeking the recovery of public land identified as Nanyuki Municipality Block 6/330.

The suit has been filed against Antony Saidimu.
