The High Commission of India in Nairobi will host the 12th International Day of Yoga at the Visa Oshwal Grounds on June 21, drawing thousands of participants to mark the global wellness event.
This year’s celebration centres on the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing," highlighting physical and mental wellness across different generations, from students and working professionals to senior citizens.
"Yoga is a holistic practice that promotes balance between the body and mind. Regular practice can improve flexibility, strength, balance and overall wellbeing while helping reduce stress," the commission said.
The event is open to the public free of charge, though organisers note that registration is mandatory. To support participants, the High Commission of India will provide complimentary event T-shirts and yoga mats to all registered attendees.
Organizers stated that the event aims to promote yoga as a holistic practice to improve flexibility, strength, and balance while reducing stress in daily life.
