A 39-year-old man was killed in a fire incident at his apartment in Buruburu Sub-County, Nairobi.
Fire broke out in Room A13 on the third floor of a building located near Uhuru Market along Eastlands Crescent.
Members of the public forced entry into the locked apartment and managed to put out the blaze.
Inside the room, officers discovered the body of Noordin Billow Ali, aged 39, lying on a bed and completely burned.
Preliminary information gathered at the scene indicated that the deceased’s wife had left the house earlier with their children for school while her husband was asleep.
She allegedly locked the house from outside before returning and found it engulfed in flames, with emergency responders already on site.
The fire also destroyed household property of unknown value.
The exact cause of the blaze has not yet been established.
The scene was processed and documented by crime scene investigators before the body was moved to City Mortuary for preservation and post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations to determine the cause of the fire and circumstances surrounding the death incident.
In a separate incident, a 45-year-old man died after he was allegedly involved in stabbing during domestic dispute with his wife in Mt Elgon, Bungoma County.
Police said the incident occurred on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at around 8:30 p.m. in the evening.
Police said the deceased, identified as Robert Sikuku Chepkombe, was involved in a disagreement with his wife at their home when the confrontation reportedly escalated into a physical fight.
The incident came to light after the woman allegedly sent her children to inform a neighbour about what had happened.
The neighbour alerted other residents who responded and rushed the injured man to Mt Elgon Sub-County Hospital for treatment.
However, Chepkombe died from his injuries while receiving medical attention.
Investigators later visited the scene of the incident, where they recovered a blood-stained kitchen knife with a black handle believed to have been used in the attack.
The suspect was arrested and placed in police custody to assist with investigations.
The body of the deceased was moved to Kimilili Sannte Mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination as detectives continue with inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
