The initiative is aimed at strengthening institutional capacity across key tribunals and administrative departments within the Judiciary.
In an advertisement, the commission invited qualified professionals to apply for a wide range of positions, including tribunal leadership roles, adjudicatory members, and senior administrative and technical posts.
The JSC, established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, said the recruitment seeks to enhance the independence, efficiency, and accountability of the Judiciary.
Among the advertised positions are three chairperson roles in key tribunals: the Land Acquisition Tribunal, the National Civil Aviation Administrative Review Tribunal, and the Business Premises Rent Tribunal (BPRT).
Each of these tribunals plays a role in resolving sector-specific disputes, including land compensation matters, aviation regulatory reviews, and commercial tenancy conflicts.
The commission is also seeking to fill four member positions in the Business Premises Rent Tribunal, alongside 18 ad hoc member slots in the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal.
Of these, nine positions are reserved for advocates and nine for non-advocates, reflecting the tribunal’s hybrid composition and its mandate to handle politically sensitive electoral and party-related disputes.
In addition, the JSC has advertised several senior administrative and technical roles aimed at strengthening internal governance and operational efficiency.
"These include the position of Director of Public Affairs and Corporate Communication, as well as multiple deputy director posts in Strategy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation; Research and Data Analytics; Organisational Productivity and Quality Assurance; Internal Audit; and Risk Management," the advert reads.
The commission is also recruiting an Assistant Director for Information Systems Audit.
Furthermore, two positions have been re-advertised for members of the Industrial Property Tribunal (non-advocates).
“Interested and qualified persons are asked to visit our
jobs portal: https://jsc.go.ke/jobs-2/ for detailed job descriptions,
requirements for appointment, and instructions on how to apply," JSC said.
The deadline for submission has been set for June 12, 2026, at 5.00 p.m.
The Commission emphasised that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and warned that canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification.
It further reiterated that its recruitment process is free of charge, urging applicants to remain vigilant.
The JSC also reaffirmed its commitment to merit-based recruitment, stating that all appointments will be conducted through fair and open competition, drawing from the widest possible pool of eligible candidates.
