President William Ruto has joined thousands of Arsenal supporters in Kenya in celebrating the club’s English Premier League triumph, with leaders and prominent personalities flooding social media with congratulatory messages.
In a message shared online, Ruto praised the club for what he described as resilience, discipline and consistency throughout the season.
“Our dreams may be deferred, but never extinguished,” Ruto said.
“The journey may be long, but the destination doesn't shift. Meaningful struggle will always be hard and important work difficult.”
The President added, "But we are determined, dedicated and disciplined, therefore our focus and consistency will take us to the finish line. To win, we must do our work and live our lives with the mentality of champions.”
“Congratulations to the Arsenal, and thank you for exemplifying resilience and consistency. Let's do it again soon,” he said.
Political and communication strategist Pauline Njoroge also joined the celebrations, highlighting scenes of jubilant Arsenal fans in Nairobi.
“And Arsenal fans in Nairobi decided to crown their celebrations with our current 2nd national anthem,” she posted.
“Now I have a good reason to congratulate the Premier League champions."
City lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi also weighed in, declaring Arsenal the biggest football club globally following the title victory.
“No doubt whatsoever...Arsenal is the BIGGEST and MOST POPULAR team on planet Earth,” he posted.
Raila Odinga Jr joked that his father, the late Prime Minister Raila, would have declared a public holiday in honour of the victory.
Speaking after Arsenal clinched the 2025-26 Premier League title, Raila Odinga Jr said the club’s success was proof that patience and faith eventually pay off.
He sparked excitement among Arsenal supporters with a humorous remark referencing former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
“If my father and I did not have faith in the Arsenal team, we would not have reached here. If Baba were alive, he would have declared Tuesday a public holiday to celebrate Arsenal’s win,” he said.
The former Prime Minister's deep connection with football was well known to Kenyans. Whether in stadiums or political rallies, the seasoned leader never hid his passion for the sport.
His dedication to Arsenal FC often made headlines, as he was fond of analysing their matches and joking about the team’s fortunes or misfortunes with the same seriousness he brought to national affairs.
This comes as Arsenal fans across Kenya and other parts of Africa erupted into celebrations after the North London club secured its first Premier League title in 22 years.
In Nairobi, thousands of fans flooded the Central Business District dressed in Arsenal jerseys, waving flags, chanting club songs and blowing vuvuzelas as they celebrated the long-awaited triumph.
The title marks a major milestone for Arsenal, who ended years of disappointment after finishing runners-up in the previous three seasons.
Under manager Mikel Arteta, Arsenal overcame fierce competition to finally reclaim the English top-flight crown.
The club’s victory sparked celebrations among Kenyan supporters, with fans taking to streets, social media platforms and entertainment joints to mark the occasion.
