A plane is reported to have made an emergency landing at Wilson Airport on Friday evening.
Preliminary information indicated that no casualties had been reported by the time of publication, although authorities had not yet released full details about the incident.
Emergency response teams were swiftly deployed to the scene to secure the aircraft by the time of publication.
The incident comes months after another disruption at the same airport in March 2026, when a passenger plane arriving from Kisumu International Airport veered off the runway at Wilson Airport.
The incident caused a temporary disruption, but all 39 passengers and crew escaped unharmed.
“We wish to confirm that all passengers and crew are safe, with no injuries reported. The aircraft remains on site, and recovery efforts are currently underway,” the authority said in a statement.
The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) said the incident occurred at 20:55 hours.
KAA added that airport operations at Wilson remain normal and reiterated its commitment to “the highest standards of safety at all our airports.”
