Full Gospel Church’s General Overseer Bishop David Macharia’s wife, Reverend Catherine Macharia / HANDOUTFormer Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka have joined the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya in mourning Reverend Catherine Macharia, wife of Bishop Dr David Macharia, the church’s General Overseer.
Catherine passed away on May 14, according to a statement issued by the leadership of the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya.
Gachagua described Catherine as a devoted servant of God who dedicated her life to prayer and humanity.
“I have learnt of the passing on of Rev Catherine Macharia, wife of Bishop David Macharia, General Overseer of the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, with great sadness. Catherine lived a life of prayer, service to God and humanity,” he said.
He conveyed condolences to Bishop Macharia, his family and members of the church, saying they are in his prayers during the difficult moment.
“May Almighty God rest the soul of Rev Catherine in eternal peace and glory be upon her forever,” Gachagua said.
Kalonzo described the late reverend as a dedicated minister who impacted many through mentorship and service.
“It is with deep sorrow that I have learned of the passing of Rev Catherine Macharia, beloved wife of Bishop Dr David Macharia. Rev Catherine was deeply dedicated to ministry and mentored many, leaving behind a legacy of faith, guidance and service that will continue to inspire generations.”
The church said Catherine peacefully departed after a life devoted to God, family and ministry.
“She was a virtuous woman of faith, compassion, humility and unwavering dedication to the service of God,” the church said in a statement.
The church described her passing as a great loss to her family and the wider Christian community, noting that she would be remembered for her kindness, prayerful life and steadfast commitment to ministry.
A funeral service for Catherine will be held on May 26 at Kunste Grounds in Nakuru from 10 am, while the funeral service will take place on May 27, at the Sugunoi home grounds in Nakuru.
