LPG gas tanker overturns along Mombasa Road

The lorry driver reportedly lost control of the tanker before it overturned onto its right side.

Police were deployed on Tuesday to guard the scene of an overturned LPG gas tanker along Mombasa Road as response teams worked to secure the area.

Motorists were advised to exercise caution while using the road as emergency teams responded to the incident.

No serious injuries were reported following the morning accident.

The lorry driver reportedly lost control of the tanker before it overturned onto its right side.

Issa Mohamud said police had launched investigations into the cause of the accident.

Meanwhile, 11 people were killed in separate road accidents reported on Monday.

The victims included five riders, two pedestrians, two passengers, a driver and a pedal cyclist.

Police said 43 people were injured in the incidents, among them 20 passengers, 10 pedestrians, nine riders and two pillion passengers.
