Huduma Kenya has introduced Nairobi City County services in select Huduma Centres, expanding the scope of public service delivery while also reinforcing its extended operating hours in 20 branches across the country.

In a public notice shared on Thursday via its official social media platforms, the agency said residents can now access a range of Nairobi county services at Huduma Centres in Eastleigh, Kibra and Makadara.

The newly integrated services include payment of ground rent, issuance of land rates invoices, payment of county house rent, applications for business permits, payment of seasonal and daily parking fees, as well as general county service inquiries.

Huduma Kenya said the move is part of ongoing efforts to bring services closer to the citizens through one-stop service centres that reduce the need to visit multiple government offices.

“Nairobi City County services are now at Huduma Centres,” the agency said.

The agency added that the integration is designed to improve convenience, efficiency and accessibility of essential county services within the existing Huduma framework.

At the same time, Huduma Kenya reminded the public that 20 selected Huduma Centres across the country are now operating under extended hours from 7am to 7pm to improve flexibility for service seekers.

“Huduma Kenya is here to serve you better. To make government services more accessible, 20 select centres across the country are now operating with extended hours from 7am to 7pm,” the agency said.

According to Huduma Kenya, the extended hours are meant to ensure the public can access services early in the morning, during the day or after work, depending on their schedules.

“This means you can visit early in the morning, during the day, or even after work and still get the help you need,” it added.

The centres operating under the extended schedule include GPO, City Square, Eastleigh, Kibra and Makadara Huduma Centres in Nairobi, alongside Bungoma, Embu, Kakamega, Kericho, Kiambu, Kisii, Kisumu, Kitale, Laikipia, Meru, Migori, Mombasa, Nakuru, Nyeri and Uasin Gishu centres.

Huduma Kenya said the combined reforms are expected to improve service delivery, reduce congestion at government offices and enhance citizen experience when accessing both national and county services.

Huduma Centres were established to streamline government services by bringing together multiple ministries, departments and agencies under one roof, including services such as ID applications, passport processing, tax services, birth registration, health insurance and business registration.

The latest changes come amid ongoing government efforts to digitise and decentralise public services while improving efficiency and reducing delays at service points.
