The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) has
announced six job vacancies as it seeks to strengthen its workforce and
accelerate the development of Konza Technopolis into a globally competitive
innovation hub.
The Authority said it is looking for competent, capable,
ambitious, self-motivated and dynamic individuals with the expertise required
to support its mandate of building a sustainable smart city and advancing
Kenya’s knowledge economy.
KoTDA’s mission is to develop a thriving, sustainable smart
city anchored on a vibrant innovation ecosystem.
The technopolis is positioned to host education
institutions, research and development centres, and commercial enterprises,
particularly in life sciences, engineering and Information Technology Enabled
Services (ITES).
It also operates as a Special Economic Zone offering
targeted incentives to investors.
The vacancies announced include one position for chief manager
for corporate research and strategy (grade 2), executive secretary (grade 5), information
systems auditor (grade 6), cloud developer (grade 6), IT program officer (grade
6), and IoT engineer (grade 6).
Each position has one available slot, bringing the total
number of posts to six.
Interested candidates can access detailed role profiles,
qualifications and experience requirements through the Authority’s official
careers portal.
Applications are to be submitted via email to Human Capital
Business Solutions, with applicants required to include a curriculum vitae,
application letter and academic certificates.
KoTDA said all applications must be received by May 25,
2016, noting that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
The Authority reiterated its commitment to equal opportunity
employment, in line with constitutional provisions on fair competition, merit,
and inclusivity. It encouraged applications from women, youth, marginalized
groups and persons living with disabilities.
Successful candidates will be required to meet the integrity
standards outlined in Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya. KoTDA warned that
canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification.
KoTDA is a State corporation established to oversee the planning, development and management of
Konza Technopolis, Kenya’s flagship smart city project envisioned under the country’s long-term development blueprint,
Kenya Vision 2030.
According to its official website, KoTDA’s core mandate is to develop a world-class, sustainable smart city anchored on innovation, technology and knowledge-based industries.
The Authority is responsible for coordinating infrastructure development, attracting strategic investors, and creating an enabling environment for enterprises and institutions operating within the technopolis.
Konza Technopolis is designed as a mixed-use development combining business, research, education and residential components. It targets key sectors such as information and communication technology (ICT), life sciences, engineering and business process outsourcing.
The project is also designated as a Special Economic Zone, offering fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to investors to enhance competitiveness and stimulate economic growth.
