Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has dismissed all members of the County Executive Committee in a far-reaching reorganisation aimed at streamlining governance and improving service delivery.

In a press release issued Thursday, the governor announced that the decision, made under Section 40(1)(a) of the County Government Act, also affects the County Attorney and the County Secretary.

“The reorganisation of the County Executive has been undertaken in the exercise of the constitutional mandate to ensure effective governance and service delivery,” Lusaka said.

He emphasised that the move was made “in good faith and in the broader public interest,” adding that it is intended to facilitate efficient functioning within the county administration while safeguarding the integrity of public institutions.

Despite the sweeping changes, the county boss sought to reassure residents that essential services will not be disrupted.

“The county government remains committed to continuity of services and appropriate administrative measures have been put in place to ensure that there is no disruption in the delivery of essential services,” Lusaka said.

He said further communication on interim arrangements and new appointments will be issued in due course, in line with legal procedures.

The governor also took a moment to acknowledge the outgoing officials for their service, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to constitutionalism and due process.

“The governor appreciates the service rendered by the affected officers and reaffirms the County Government's commitment to constitutionalism, the rule of law, and respect for due process,” he said.
