Security agencies in Meru and Isiolo counties recovered 100 goats that had been stolen from Mbataru area in Tigania East, in a coordinated operation aimed at curbing livestock theft and banditry in the region.

According to police, officers who were following up on a reported theft of goats successfully traced and recovered the animals at the Manyatta Zebra Grazing Zone during patrols conducted yesterday.

The operation was based on coordinated patrol efforts and timely intelligence gathered by security teams operating in the area.

The recovered goats were positively identified by their rightful owner and later handed over in the presence of local administration officials.

Police said the recovery is part of ongoing security operations and patrols in Meru and Isiolo counties aimed at deterring incidents of banditry and livestock theft.

They added that the continued presence and vigilance of security personnel is intended to maintain law and order, protect property, and safeguard the livelihoods of residents.

The National Police Service has reiterated its commitment to curbing stock theft and strengthening security interventions in areas affected by livestock-related crime.

The latest recovery, officials said, reflects the effectiveness of sustained patrols and coordinated response efforts between security agencies and local communities.

Authorities continue to encourage residents to share information that may assist in preventing and responding to such incidents as part of broader efforts to enhance security in the region.
