Deputy President Kithure Kindiki joins bereaved families in mourning the Nyeri accident victims at a requiem mass on April 7, 2026/DPCS.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki attended an interdenominational funeral service for 16 people who lost their lives in a tragic road accident near Dedan Kimathi University, Nyeri county, on March 29.
The crash involved a matatu and a truck ferrying logs, instantly claiming the lives of 10 individuals, but the death toll later rose to 16.
Kindiki sent condolences to the victims' families on March 29, expressing sympathy for the fatal crash.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families and our hope is for the quick recovery of the injured," the DP said.
He urged motorists to observe safety precautions, considering their own lives, their passengers and other road users.
