
A multi-agency security team has recovered stolen livestock following a raid in the Tumuti area of Tigania East Sub-County, Meru County.
Security officers, acting on intelligence and tracking the suspects, intercepted the raiders in the Nakuprat Conservancy, where an exchange of fire occurred.
The suspects fled into nearby bushes, abandoning part of the stolen animals.
In a coordinated operation, another team intercepted additional livestock being driven by bandits in the Nasimunye area.
The officers were engaged by the bandits but repulsed the attack, recovering more animals.
So far, sixteen cattle, four donkeys, and one sheep have been recovered.
Security teams continue to search for the remaining stolen livestock.
The recovered animals are being held pending identification and return to their owners.
The National Police Service praised members of the public for their cooperation and urged continued vigilance.
