President William Ruto has welcomed the Mozambique president, Daniel Chapo, to State House on Thursday.
President Chapo embarked on a three-day official visit to Kenya on Tuesday to boost trade, enhance security cooperation, and strengthen bilateral ties between Kenya and Mozambique.
The presidents officiated the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).
Ruto lauded the agreements, saying they would deepen cooperation and economic progress for Kenya and Mozambique.
Chapo commended Ruto for planning to utilise $3 billion in development projects across the country that would create more than 33,000 employment opportunities in the next two years.
Ruto said the projects would cut across key sectors such as agriculture and manufacturing.
Chapo also applauded the Affordable Housing initiative, noting that Mozambique was also conducting a similar project on social housing.
"We will start with the construction of social housing for our young people," Chapo said.
