
Detectives are
investigating an incident where a 16-year-old boy was found dead after
suspected murder in a village in Macalder, Migori County.
The incident happened on Sunday in Got Orango area, police said, adding his body was found in a compound
of a neighbour.
The body did not have
any visible injuries when it was discovered, police said, adding it was moved
to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
The owner of the compound where the body was found was arrested a few hours later for grilling.
Police said they were yet to establish the motive of the murder.
Elsewhere, a 14-year-old
boy drowned in a river as he bathed with other colleagues in Kodete, Nyando,
Kisumu county.
The boy was a grade
seven pupil at Oroba Junior Secondary School in the area.
He had visited his uncle
in the area and later went with other children to bathe in the river near the
home.
His four colleagues said
they found out that he was missing minutes after he had drowned, and the body was later
retrieved and taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
In Rachuonyo, Homa Bay county, a man identified as Seth Okoth, 35, was stabbed and killed in an altercation.
Police said four men
were arguing over unclear reasons before one of them stabbed and killed the
deceased on Saturday dawn.
He was stabbed in the
chest. The murder weapon, a kitchen knife, was recovered about 20 metres from
the scene, police said.
Locals who responded to
the scene torched a motorcycle belonging to one of the suspects in the murder
in anger, police said.
Police staged an
operation in the area and arrested an injured suspect in the murder. He had two
deep cuts on the head and was taken to a local hospital where he was treated
and discharged under police guard.
Police said they were
looking for more suspects in connection with the murder as the body was moved
to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Meanwhile, police are
investigating the discovery of the body of a man in Lake Naivasha.
Fishermen in the Kihoto area said they found the body floating before alerting the police on Sunday morning.
The body was later retrieved, and the man was identified as Martin Nyongesa
Wanyonyi, 30.
A sack with a pair of
military combat uniforms, a jungle shirt, a jungle belt and a panga was
found at the banks of the lake. There was also a mobile phone therein, police
said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
