“The future of our country lies in the hands of young people. Our responsibility is to equip them with the right skills so they can effectively participate in a fast-changing world,” Ngugi said.

RVIBS Director John Gitau noted that the college has mainstreamed Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital skills across all programmes—making it one of the first institutions in the region to adopt a fully tech-integrated curriculum.

“Technology is reshaping every sector. Our courses are intentionally designed to prepare students for this new reality. From AI to digital innovation, our learners graduate with skills that matter,” Gitau said.

The graduates were trained in a wide array of disciplines including ICT and AI Innovation, Beauty and Cosmetology, Hospitality, Media Studies, Engineering, and Medical Support programmes.

Before receiving their certificates, students showcased cutting-edge projects they had developed as part of their practical assessments.

Among the standout innovations were:

A smart vehicle system capable of detecting a drowsy driver and automatically slowing down to prevent accidents.

An AI-enhanced news anchoring model demonstrating how media houses can leverage emerging technologies.

A career guidance portal, designed by ICT students, to help Form Four leavers choose suitable courses based on their strengths and interests.

Graduate Javis Wahome, who completed a Diploma in ICT specialising in AI and Cyber Security, described RVIBS as a place that pushes students to achieve their highest potential.

“We didn’t just learn—we built real solutions. RVIBS is a skills and innovation hub where everyone is encouraged to think differently and create,” Wahome said.

The ceremony marked a celebration of youth empowerment, innovation, and the institution’s commitment to preparing graduates for a competitive global job market.
