The conduct of a senior foreign affairs officer is causing dissatisfaction at the headquarters. Colleagues accuse the officer of alleged unprofessionalism, with claims that the said officer is supposedly sabotaging the boss, a director. The officer is said to be allegedly influencing foreign travel trips even without the approval of the director. Colleagues read a powerful hand behind her, given the audacity and some of the favours and opportunities the officer has been getting. For instance, Corridors learns, the said officer was favoured to attend a prestigious course in one of the specialised universities in Kenya, an opportunity reserved for senior and more experienced officials.

Was a ministry that has been on the headlines for not very good reasons forced to convince a recently hired top official back to the job following disagreements on a critical government programme? Well, Corridors has learnt that the official, who was brought on board to head the critical docket, supposedly felt frustrated and even left the job for two months. While it is said the official had already secured a role abroad, the minister in the parent ministry was forced to reach out, fearing the backlash and negative publicity such a development would cause him and the ministry. The question is, for how long will the official stay, and will the demands be met?

How people change! A vocal politician who for years presented himself as a watchdog of the government is now facing accusations of possibly committing the same ills he exposed. The man was recently exposed for allegedly extorting from business people, with threats of unnamed consequences if his demands are not met. The individual is for instance said to have supposedly destroyed some installations when the amount he demanded was not sent. The said individual was recently embroiled in a property tussle.

A governor from one of the counties on "high demand" is a man under siege. The county chief has been weighing options on the best strategy to win re-election, as two of his main rivals make moves that are likely to dislodge him from the seat. The man, sources say, is aware but he is unlikely to survive a wave that has taken over in the region but cannot decamp or support the popular camp for fear of his “file” being pulled by powerful forces. Already, the two rivals are jostling for the ticket from the popular camp, which is widely seen a direct ticket to the county’s top job.
